A little motivation.

Hi guys!!

So, I decided to get a head start on "My Beloved World" and to my surprise it's amazing from the start. I wish I had the time to complete this book in one day.😞😞 That's how engrossed I've become mainly because I can relate to parts of her experiences as a child. Unfortunately, I  have not heard of  Sonia Sotomayor before Tuesday. Honestly I don't follow up on politics so that might explain why. Even if  you're not an avid reader, I can guarantee this book will muse you.
I encourage you all to give it a try if you haven't already done so.

  1. I'm agree with you, it is a amazing story, I identify myself with that part of her life that She spend time whit her "Abuelita". When they go to buy together chickens to cook for a party, both them enjoyed that nice experience, also the Mrs. Sotomayor wrote a book where She exposed the sad reality of her childhood talking even about the dysfunctional life of her parents.

  2. Yes, am sure a lot of us can relate to this story. For me, when I was younger I wouldn't want my dad to know that I was sick in any way. Growing up in Jamaica older people believe there's a herbal potion that cures everything. To me they have the most awful taste. Lol!!!. In My Beloved World pages 8-9 you will read where after Abuelity found out Sonia had diabetes, she sent for a special herb that was suppose to cure her chronic illness. Unfortunately, Abuelita's herbal remedy was proved to be ineffective. This disturbed Abuelita deeply.

  3. The book thus far is very engaging. I've certainly enjoyed the first six chapters. I can relate to her childhood. I too remember vividly visiting family back in Dominican Republic many times. Enjoying the freedom in where you could hang out with the extended family and cousins outside, climb any tree, swim the streams and enjoy all the local fruits in season straight from the tree.
