Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

I think the early part of her childhood is relevant because so far hearing about some of the things that she went through I think helped shaped her to be the successful women that she is today. I believe that when you go through rough things in life it may hurt but it also makes you stronger. I think it builds character. I believe it toughens you up to be able to maneuver in this world. I think if a person has it too easy in life when something bad happens they won't be able to cope.
