My beloved World

The deeper I get into this book, the more I like it and it gets hard to not read ahead. I find it so interesting knowing the mothers story and the hardships she went through growing up. The fact that Sonia shed some light on her parents earlier life and marriage before all the drinking, let me know it wasn't always bad. The passing of her father was bitter sweet because she missed her father but there was a sense of relief at home because there were no more fights. I was amazed how she just paints a picture of the transformation from grieving and slowly moving on with their lives. Im so amazed by her way of thinking at such a young age but i think it just came with all her experiences that cause her to mature fast. Reading the book has been very humbling so far because this girl went through so much at such a young age, what she went through in the first eleven chapters would break most people.

hi everyone, the book is interesting because it talks about her life and what she did in the past too. It also takes a lot of time to fix people situation and try to judge the people at the same time. Many people could love you the way you are, but sometime they hurt your feelings. The people could also try to hurt your emotional, and heart too.

I feel that Sonia’s love her (grandmother) abuelita grew so deep, because it was the only time in her life where she felt protection, peace and a true sense of love. True love that was innocent, the love a child longs to feel. This love was her strength and courage. The reason she was able to face all the difficulties in her childhood and to have that sense of comfort let her know that everything was going to be alright. I could feel the love she had for her abuelita through her words. She looked at her in a way that, no two other eyes could ever see her, as she quotes on page 28. “Her long black hair is tied back simply and her dress is plain, but to my eyes she looks even more glamours than anyone trying to be fancy.” 

I didn't know much about Sonia prior to this story, I knew of her, and how she was the first hispanic woman to ever be appointed a Supreme Court judge, but I never knew about her, as just Sonia. I’m glad I got a chance to read this book, because now I have a new found respect for her as a person and not just because of her job tittle, yet rather for the courage which lies inside her.  I now, too can see her with different eyes. Not with the same eyes she saw her abuelita, but I can definitely say I see her with eyes of admiration for who she is and the woman she chose to become. 

Good evening my fellow bloggers, I hope everyone is well. I just wanted to stop by and read some comments while on duty. As I read, it occurred to me I didn't post about our group critique. I just wanted to tell everyone while listening to each and every masterpiece I discovered everyone in my group had a story to tell, each one of them was absolutely amazing. On the first day of class I thought I wasn't going to make it. I am in the midst of many stressful life changing situations and I assumed on the first day that this class was an added burden but to my surprise that was untrue. I find my self writing more, if only I could correct all the grammatical errors as I write I'd be Gucci. I guess what I'm trying to say is I feel more comfortable writing and I am not bothered by the idea of a four hour class anymore. The time isn't a factor because you all make it a good night so far. Love, peace and happiness to you all.   

  

Group Critic

i know i am a little late on this but i really enjoyed the group critic was very helpful to me. it was really shy and nervous about it because i did put in a bit of personal information in it and I'm not the type to express myself to other but when it comes to writing i enjoy to put it down on paper. so who ever was in my group i really appreciate it when you they told me that my writing was really good and that they loved it

My Beloved World

This is a story with a traumatic childhood  that any child has suppose to have. Sonia Sotomayor after a raise at the meddle of a dysfunctional family, where her father the alcoholism has taken over, her mother is a nurse that She prefers to be away from her husband and her home regardless of their children,  Her unique relay support was her " Abuelita" grandmother, She used to go where abuelita's house to escape from the continues fights of her parents. Just with seven year old had to learn how to give her self her insulin injection because her parents could not do it. Her father for the alcoholism his hands are not stables to apply injections and her mother has not time because her job was more important. Sonia Sotomayor is not admirable only for her professional performance also because she was force to face the life since very small.     

Group Critique Activity.


My experience in this activity that I shared with Natasha, Irvin and Ricky was satisfactory, I expected more critiques on my essay, Truly I appreciate my friends' support and any other critique that they could to consider in the future. From another hand, when I enrolled in this course I believe that four hours of English class will be tedious, but so far it has not been like that and I don't think it going to change. Our professor make of those four hours likable.
