Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.
I think most than prejudice, it is discrimination. I would like to know if the sleeping student had been white if she had called the police. By the way, check the note called "Girl born without hands wins national penmanship award" at the right side of this article. It does not care skin color to be a good student, just need to have the way to can develop skills.
It's crazy how it is 2018 and we still hear stories like this. I hope one day racism will just go away. I'm so over it. We are all equal. I wish everyone would see that and stop being so ignorant.
Thanks for sharing this article Stacy. It is so ridiculous that this kind of prejudice still takes place.
